Although using regular cola to braise chicken wings isn’t a new technique, this method is quite uncommon – at least for us. The reason why cola makes an excellent ingredient for chicken braising is because it not only acts as a meat tenderizer, the caramelisation of the cola also brings a sweet nutty flavour to the chicken.

Marinate for chicken wings
5 pieces of chicken wings
2 tablespoons of Chinese cooking wine
2 tablespoons of light soya sauce
2 tablespoons of oyster sauce
A few dashes of pepper
Braising gravy for the chicken wings
1.5 tablespoons of sesame oil
4 slices of ginger
4 pieces of dried chilli – soaked
3 cloves of garlic – sliced
1.5 cups of regular cola
1 tablespoon of premium dark soya sauce
